The purpose of this church shall be as revealed in the New Testament to win people to faith in Jesus Christ and commit them actively to the church.   Our purpose is to help them grow in the grace and knowledge of Christ that increasingly they may know and do His Will, to work with the community of all Christians and with them engage in the common task of building the Kingdom of God.

Ministries:
1.  Preaching is an important part of worship.  At First Christian Church it is practical and has always reflected an upcompromising view of the Bible as the inspired, authoritative Word of God.  The messages get to the center of people's emotional and spiritual needs.  They are down to earth and applicable to our daily lives.

2.  Worship opportunities are times for meditation, communication, and committment.  At First Christian Church every effort is made to make worship relevant for both the person who has known Christ for a long time and the one who is getting to know Him for the first time.  From week to week the music styles vary from traditional (1st service) to contemporary (2nd service); but the lyrics always speak of Christ and Biblical truths.

An adult choir, a children's Choir (Sunbeams), a handbell choir and a praise team participate in worship at various times.

Frequently sermons are enhanced through drama and video presentation.

3.  Pastoral Care is the helping hand and listening ear of a Christian friend providing support, encouragement and hope when it is needed most.  Needs are met through several ministiries.

    a.  Elders: Giving a person to person approach to help meet the needs of people experiencing difficulties and problems.

    b.  Deaconesses:  Giving support through visitation in times of sickness and bereavement.

    c.  Hospital visitation:  If you or someone  you know is facing serious illness please let us know about it.

    d.  Minister on call:  Rev. Clark or Dr. Prevo are on call every day to assist with spiritual needs or questions and can be reached by calling the church office at 234-2928

4.  Christian Women's Fellowship is a diversified group of women, meeting to encourage personal growth, inspire fellowship among women of the church and enhance the outreach ministry.  The various groups include Grace, Faith, Craft, Service and Charity Study.

5.  Recreation / Activities emphasize the importance of active minds and bodies in our Christian walk.  Basketball, walking, volleyball, softball, health and wellness programs are just some of the opportunities.
